Sri Lankan Army 57 Division at the moment operating East of Iranamadu Tank bund and close to LTTE's 6th air strip today January  16th 2009. The air strip is  300m long and 20m wide is located Southeast of the Iranamadu tank bund.It is Believed This airstrip is used for LTTE's trainings and Emergencey Landings.Two days ago troops found another Air Strip close to this one.


Sri Lankan Army troops found the 5th runway east of Iranamadu tank yesterday evening, 14 January 2008. The runway is 50m wide and over 1000m long.


The runway is situated in the thick jungle with a massive bunker line and a trench line around the runway complex with mine fields and booby traps. Also a hanger has been found.



Earlier Sri Lankan Army found 4 LTTE’s AirStrips.



1.      57 Division operating North of Vannivilankulama has captured 500m long track.



2.      Task Force 1 found a Ltte Airstrip 200m long and built on the B-69 Pooneryn- Parantan main road near



          Nevil.



3.      Sri Lankan Army TF 3 found a Ltte's Airstrip near Ampakaman north which is  200m long and 10m Wide.



4.       SL Army 59 Division captured an airstrip located in Mullaittivu about 5km west of Nanthikandal lagoon which is 1.5 Km long and 100 m Wide. Also 2 hangers were found. (January 10th 2009)

Sri Lanka Army 58 Division advance along the A-35 road (Paranthan - Mullaittivu) on the West- East axis has reached the outskirts of Dharmapuram approximately 13Km away from Paranthan.

Meanwhile, Army 55 Division soldiers marching down northeastern coast of the Island captured Chundikulam yesterday and found 125 boats belonging to Sea Tigers and LTTE organization.

Heavy fighting was reported when Sri Lanka Army 59 Division is advancing to Chilawatte area.Alos area of  south of Iranamadu and Ampakamam north clashes reported in the last few days.
