Sri Lankan Tamils: Perhaps this is what IC wanted?
The day has come, and now the world leaders can relax. In the last few weeks there have been increasing number of Tamils protests, marches, rallies etc to get the attention of the world leaders to the plight of their Tamil friends and relatives inside the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE, or Tamil Tigers) controlled territory. Having seen the agitated Tamil diaspora the world leaders were compelled to do something about it. However international community (IC) stand on LTTE, a military organization banned as a terrorist organization by the ill informed or for politically motivated world leaders, made them just utter some words of passion for humanity and the crowd pleasing promises.
The world leaders have either failed to translate their words into deeds to make it meaningful, or just deliberately sit on their hands abetting the Sri Lankan government to finish off the LTTE, as the government claims that it can wipe out LTTE once and for ever. For someone who follows the development in Sri Lankan crisis, it becomes apparent that the world leaders wanted the latter. This is a grave mistake the international community has made by letting the innocent Tamil civilians pay the ultimate price for treating the symptoms, LTTE factor, and not address the deep underlying issue of Sri Lankan government's systematic cleansing of the Tamil population from Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan government has since independence systematically revoked many rights of Tamils as a citizen of Sri Lanka, which they never were before the colonial period when they they had their kingdom of their own. The Sri Lankan government as soon as, as a matter of hours, it gets independents from the british revoked the right of the Language and religios freedoms by recognizing the Sinhala as the national language and Buddism as the national religion. The government has used military to shut the voices of the Tamil who wanted their language and religious freedom. In 1981 the government ministers with the help of the military burnt the Jaffna Public Library, one of the finest library in South Asia, housing wealth of literature and artifacts witnessing the history of Tamils in Sri Lanka. Thus the government has denied Tamils to own their history in the island. The worse yet the progrom of government of Sri Lanka against Tamils in 1953, 1956, 1958, 1977, 1981, 1983. The series of these ethnic riots carried out with the full support of the government and the crushing of the peaceful democratic request of the Tamils for equal rights with the use of military compelled the Tamils to look into options for defending the Tamils from the government's iron fists. As the former US president John F Kennedy consisely said "Those who make peaceful impossible will make violent revolution inevitable".
In the early 1980s the frustrated youth who were denied academic career by the government's standardization scheme brought in targetting to limit the university admission of Tamils. India seeing all these developments wanted to bring Sri Lankan government under its belt, started to provide military train these frustrated Tamil youths and few groups of Tamils militants came into existence. During the course of the following years Tamil people found LTTE as a militant group that is genuinly committed to the cause of safeguarding the Tamils and its leaders cannot be bought by any political offices, which later frustrated India in its purpose to use the militants to control the Sri Lankan government for its own political gain. Dr.Karen Parker, an attorney specializing in Human Rights has clearly stated that the Tamils in Sri Lanka has rights for self determination (Part1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5 video clips totalling about 40 minutes).
Having understand that the Tamils with the help of LTTE to have their own self government, the Sri Lankan government realised the imminent danger to its agenda of eliminating the Tamils from Sri Lanka, it drafted a plan to eliminate the LTTE. In that process it created a coalition of governments to ban LTTE as a terrorist organization, when no one can come up with a definition for the word terrorism, which can differentiate the LTTE and many governments especially Sri Lankan government. The infamous "War on Terror" by the President George W. Bush has helped the Sri Lankan government to achieving this just by labelling the LTTE as a terrorist organization.
Sri Lankan armed forces using White PhosPhorus, and Cluster Bombs indiscraminately, if not deliberately targetting the civilians. The AAAS has analyzed the satellite images (full article in PDF) and indicated of the Tamil civilian casualties and it is reported in New York Times. Sri Lankan government has systemtically expelled Cease Fire Monitors, UN and NGO workers and effectitively disfunctioning of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) from the conflict zone to carry out its war without witness. Sri Lanka has killed many journalists and deported many international journalsts, including Nick Paton Walsh being the latest deportee, who are critical of government's war crimes (report by Human Rights Watch Sri Lanka's latest war crime). Reporters Without Borders ranked Sri Lanka at the btoom for its press freedom.
Now the world leaders, are effectively sitting on their hands waiting for the Sri Lankan government to wipe the LTTE out, if it ever can, and let thousands of Innocent civilians killed. Even if the government succeeds in its attempt to wipe out LTTE, it will only take the Sri Lankan ethnic conflict to pre 1980s situation, which will definitely a setback for the Tamils, but their quest for Independence will be hardened and could translate into something worse than LTTE to deal with. If a normal citizen like me can get this much information, the world leaders with their intelligence units working around the clock and around the globe have much more to know, yet they do not take a single action. It is not their ability that is preventing but their lack of will, caused by wrongfully accusing LTTE as a terrorist, is making them inactive. I think it is time to translate their words into action if they really mean to do some good to humanity. It is insane the mainstream media is showing their talents in spin doctoring the news to support the Sri Lankan government's genocide and let this human catastrophe unfold. The wrong application of the word "Terror" has orginated and enforced by the White House (during Bush Administration), the fix for this has to come from the White House (during Obama administration) itself. The time has come for President Barak H. Obama to show his goodwill for the global peace by doing the right thing now without further delay. It will do less good to repent later of this Tamil Genocide, when we do not do anything to stop the genocide when it is in the making.

At least that Fat EEL should release those innocent civilians he is using as his shield.
What? He won't? That's sad.
I hope he makes it his death wish and let them go.
FOR FATSO, IT'S A MATTER OF HOURS NOW.
