Sri Lankas warcrimes: US State Department's report
A call for an international investigation on Sri Lanka's war crimes is getting stronger. A recent report released by a US state department describes many possible war crimes committed by the government and LTTE.
Sri Lanka has always denied these accusations and has even claimed that they never caused any human casualties. But many sources report that between 20.000 and 50.000 Tamil civilians have been killed between Jan - May 2009. Sri Lankan army has sealed off an area of 250.000 SqKm and blocked all media and civilians to destroy their evidences of war crimes.
ICRC has registered 20.000 severely wounded in 4 months alone.
Sri Lanka called the war a "Humanitarian Rescue Mission" But they have detained about 285.000. Tamil civilians including tens of thousands of children in internment camps. There is no freedom movement at all in these camps.

"...has even claimed that they never caused any human casualties...." Was it "human" casualties or "civilian" casualties? Nevertheless, I agree with HRW's intepretation. LTTE terrorists cannot be considered "human"...... The only humans arround that place were the civilians (the 'genuine' civilians)
