St. Norbert’s Monastery Fence Comes Crashing Down in Winnipeg

You sure can’t keep away eager history buffs from getting a glimpse of the Trappist Monastery Ruins in St. Norbert just south of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The fence that was put up to keep people out of the Ruins came down earlier this week. On April 25, 2008, the province closed the tourist attraction for safety reasons due to falling bricks and vandalism. Chris D dot ca shot these photos on Friday evening (two weeks exactly since the Ruins were shut down). Maybe they should have invested in an electric fence?
