Unaccompanied St. Paul police officer disregards departmental policy by wading into a potentially hostile crowd all alone to effect an arrest.
Luckily the only apparent damage which resulted was to the officer's and his department's pride.

Typical Comment on the Site
The UpTake captured video of a St. Paul police officer dragging a "black bloc" protester away from a bus, only to get tackled from behind. The officer sprayed a chemical agent all around him but ultimately lost the suspect and called for backup.caoimghgin // 1 minute ago
The 'black bloc' protests say that America is no longer in the hands of free citizens but in the pocket of multi-national corporations. These multi-nationals control the people you vote for and they own and control what opinions and facts you have access to through main-stream media.
Now, if you believed that, would you be willing to fight? I'd hope so.

So do you think it is appropriate to attack a police officer?

I don't think violence of any type from any side for any reason is ever appropriate. And why ? Because it just don't work !!
Thanks for comment.

Pretty disgusting, and this be a liberal talking (not a mamby pamby "progressive").
This makes Amy Goodman's arrest look like child's play (though it definitely was wrong and stupid) and deflates any self righteousness about police overreaction.
The "brave" cretin who attacked from behind also appeared to be one of the many wearing a mask. My, how brave. Hiding behind masks is no better than wearing hoods.

Good Comment, I would agree. I never liked the Masks nor the hoods and even less the anonymous. Have some civil courage and pride. Well the Police Officer is plain stupid though.

From the media coverage, it would seem these 'anarchists' are the only ones protesting. I'd be suprised if this were actually the case ...
My main intention in posting this was to point out what I felt was an unacceptably amateurish move by the cop in question. By moving into obviously hostile territory without backup he risked igniting a powder keg. If he had been seriously injured we'd then have had a full scale riot on our hands when his brothers in uniform arrived on the scene to even the score - complete with many, many injuries and significant destruction of property.
This cop should probably be reprimanded ...

What about the masses of cops, dressed in black wearing helmets and shields, with no identification or way to find out who they are?
I find that type of 'organised anonymity' a lot scarier than a couple of kids wearing masks.
I've never, ever seen a cop affect an arrest by *dragging* the suspect along the ground.

Some people believe that they are being manipulated by a puppet-master. If we pause for a moment to look up we'll discover it's our own hand pulling the strings.

If you mean that by remaining silently complicit with the obvious abuses of a government run amok we all sanction such abuses by default, than I would agree with you ...
If you meant someting else, then of course I have no idea what you mean ...
