Stabbing on Knight Street - Vancouver's 5th Murder

A woman was stabbed on the 6600 block of Knight Street in Vancouver last night.

The woman later died of her injuries. This marks  the City's 5 homicide.   Police will provide more details later today.

UPDATE:

A 17 year old girl has died in hospital after a stabbing in the 6600 block of Knight Street.
 
Police were called to a house party at a rental home and found approximately 40 intoxicated teens inside.  The 17 year old girl was unconscious and lay dying on the sidewalk.  Another 16 year old girl was also stabbed and was taken to hospital, where she was treated and released.
 
Witnesses told investigators there had been an altercation inside the home involving a third girl, who allegedly stabbed both of the victims.
 
Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to call 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The victim's name will be released once all her family have been notified.
 
This is the 5th homicide of 2010.  Last year at this time there were 13 homicides.
