This week, under the leadership of Sen. John Kerry, the Senate's Commerce Committee opened hearings on the future of journalism and the role of information in supporting American democracy. The hearings are timely, in light of a technological revolution that threatens the newspaper and broadcast news industries and raises questions about the quality of democracy if there is no widely shared, reliable local news.

As I have written previously, there are many changes happening in seemingly seperate areas of the government and bureaucracy that, in aggregate, point to an abridgement of our 1st Amendment Rights of Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech and as we have seen with the TEA Party, would lead to abridgment of our Freedom of Association and Freedom of Assembly.

Please read:

Notice to US Supreme Court in re: The Internet, Public Access TV & 1st Amendment Rights

and take the time to make a copy of the "NOTICE", create your own cover letter and mail it to your US Senator and Congressman.

Thank you for your time.

Respectfully,

Don Mashak
