Update:  USAF grounds B-2 fleet pending crash investigastion

a B-2 stealth bomber crashed at Andersen Air Force Base this morning. The incident happened at around 10:45am Saturday, as information we've gathered so far indicates that a lead B-2 aircraft took off and became safely airborne, but when minutes later a second bomber took off for reasons that are unknown at this point, that aircraft crashed.

However, at least two pilots were ejected before the plane hit. Their conditions are unknown at this time. AAFB public affairs officials have not been able to be reached for comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, Yigo residents have reported that they've seen large plumes of black smoke coming from the nearby military base. Additionally, according to Guam Fire Department Angel Llagas, a large explosion was also reported to the island's 911 service this morning, and two units responded to the area.

This is the second military aircraft that has crashed in the last 11 days. On February 12 a Navy Ea-6b Prowler attached to the U.S.S. Kittyhawk strike group went down about 20 miles to the north of AAFB. All four of the pilots in that incident were released from the hospital with minor injuries.

Tragedy? That a war machine crashed? Not much tragedy in that.

Yes a trajedy indeed. Billions of dollars are now gonna have to be spent to replace it when the funds could have gone to aid third world nations. In 1999 the F-117A Stealth Fighter-Night Hawk, was lost to Yugoslav anti-aircraft defenses utilizing two SA-6 surface-to-air missiles while protecting muslims from extermination by Serbian forces..

so perhaps they should not replace it and as you say, spend the money on more useful activities, like delivering food aid, creating wekks in viallages that suffer from disiease from contaminated sources.

Better spent on those activities that military activities I say

True but unfortunately it needs to be replaced to balance the War Powers Act.
Without the Stealth Bomber the United States would have to implement a draft to compensate for the lack of troops. Most countries like China have huge armies because they have a draft which is more or less a prison sentence. The americans claim to be free spirits believing that only those who volunteer will serve unfortunately there aren't enough real men left in the United States willing to assume that responsibilty. Many of america's great warriors have been killed in past wars therefore they weren't able to procreate and pass on their genetics.
The results of american society today are an outcome of the 1940's & 60's therefore machines are replacing the human factor. The machines will keep america potential. It will keep the country free. Then and only then can america continue to spread humanitarian aid, when and only when despots are contained..

I think this is an important story and would benefit from other NowPublic contributors working on it. I've flagged it as News Wanted and invite others in relevant locations to look for more evidence.

CNN has picked this up, though AAFB's site has still yet to mention it.

How do you know where to look when a stealth bomber has crashed?

Old Soviet radar - like a mid-1950s radar operating in 165-190cm wavelength range can actually track it when flying low.

unconfirmed reports from unreliable sources indicate that dubious maintenance records show a tight fitting O ring was left off an important fuel line by an inexperienced mechanic being supervised by an intoxicated senior person - resulting in unwanted air being sucked in and causing essential engine power loss on the important left engine resulting in essential flight being unsuccessfully maintained, resulting in a heavy thump.

Now that would be a great story, Matte.
