Stefan Frederick Cook Objects To Obama Birth Certificate

US Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook and lawyer Orly Taitz filed a request last week in federal court asking that Cook be given status as a conscientious objector. Cook has refused to deploy to Afghanistan on the grounds that Barack Obama isn't a legitimate president because he is not a natural-born US citizen.
Stefan Frederick Cook was supposed to report to MacDill Air Force Base before ultimately being deployed overseas. Cook and Taitz have asked the court to consider that Cook be considered a conscientious objector since he believes that since Obama is not a natural-born citizen, which would make him ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
According to Cook’s legal filing, until Obama produces an original certificate of live birth, our armed forces is “merely a corps of chattel slaves under the illegitimate control of a private citizen.”
Cook further states he “would be acting in violation of international law by engaging in military actions outside the United States under this President’s command. ... simultaneously subjecting himself to possible prosecution as a war criminal by the faithful execution of these duties.”
A hearing to discuss the Stefan Frederick Cook case is slated for Thursday.

This guy seems like a bit of a nut job. I mean "...merely a corps of chattel slaves under the illegitimate control of a private citizen." That's not something a sane person thinks.

You have got to be kidding me, a nut? Really? If you have read more that an article about this situation, many of us in the military actually are concerned as to why in-spite of more legal cases you can throw a stick at, asking for no more than a long-form (legit) birth certificate, the Judicial branch of this country will not hear hide nor hair of it. What is the danger, I submit to you, in asking the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA for some basic constitutionally MANDATED certifications before taking the job? What is so horrible about asking for some proof of ID?

All that's being asked is for Mr Obama to produce a long form Birth Certificate, easy enough to put this issue to bed. This has been going on since the election, why have we yet to see the long form certificate? I'd like to see it, isn't this the 'Open' administration?

Ok for sandman and others that do not accecpt the certificate on file (I guess the short form one based on sandman's description) I have a question. This isn't meant as an argument but only a talking point or honest inquery. If the shorter version is not good enough to be considered true then why was it accepted in the first place? Why can this form be used to run for office? Again not an argument just an honest question.

I agree that it does seem easy to prove. It also seems like a person would have nothing to lose to show that birth certificate. I still think the solder should have reported for duty fulfilling his responsibility but still file the law suit to further the investigation. I think it would make for a stronger argument on his side. We can't afford to have a crippled military. That argument goes for both sides though. The president should produce what ever proof is required by law and solders should report for duty.

Come on guys, I was required to provide more proof of my citizenship to obtain a new drivers license when moving to a different state. Birth Cert had to an original bearing certification stamps and signatures from the issuing office before it was considered legit. Pretty simple, produce a valid BC and stop all of this nonsense... lest it continue ad nasuem.

Birth certificates are required to put your child in school, obtain a drivers license, obtain a passport, etc etc. Why should the people in ANY political office have a problem showing their birth certificate? It really makes you wonder what he is trying to hide (we already know).
Hats off to the Major that had the guts to question this! Sounds like he knows alot about laws of the US and it's military. Too bad many just accept the way things are. Our forefathers are squirming in their graves - they proudly produced birth certificates.

Wow, are you serious? We just basically called the citizens of the United States of America idiots. You don't think the gov't ran a thorough background check on President Obama, you don't think on top of that the Republican party ran a thorough background check, you don't think in the prelims Hillary Clinton ran a thorough background check. By the time those investigations end, they know what color underwear you wore at six and when you stop peeing in bed. I refuse to believe our government is that incompetent, and if it is then he deserve to be President anyway.

I agree. He worked is way up through public office. Anyone who's worked for the government at any level, including the military, knows how many forms have to be filled out and how many times you are asked place of birth. Especially if he had a secret clearance, he would have had to show documentation on a number of occasions.
When he was running for the presidency, I'm sure the GOP had an army of private investigators running anything like this to the ground--including interviewing neighbors and distant relatives. Furthermore, there were two birth announcements published in Hawaiian newspapers when he was born. Are you telling me that his parents decided to cover up the location of his birth from the moment he was born?
