A 17-year-old who phoned his rival high school on a school bus and threatened to open fire on students has been sentenced to eight years in state prison.
If we put a 17 yrs old kid into prison for a prank then the terrorists already won: their primary object is to sow terror into everyone's heart and that obviously succeeded.
nk, I like this story. It's good stuff and I agree that the judge was far more trigger happy with the 8 year sentence than the 17 year old was - he obviously had no intentions of carrying through the threat.
However, I think that the judge helped prevent these threats from happening in the future by making the 17 year old a poster boy for his crime. And you are right, terrorism breeds terror and this is one of its obvious consequences..
