Suffolk mother took photos of children bound by duct tape

SUFFOLK -- A woman sent photos of her two young children bound by duct tape, police say.

Takiyah Wright, 25, was arrested and charged with binding and threatening to kill her children.

Police say Wright sent the photos to a friend after leaving phone and text messages indicating that she was going to kill her one and three year olds and dispose of their bodies in a garbage bag.  Police added that the friend could hear Wright screaming at her children in one of the messages.

The photos show duct tape around their hands and over their mouths, according to investigators.

Police went to Wright’s home on Hillpoint Blvd. and arrested her; they say the children were not hurt and were removed from the home.

"They spoke with the mother, who indicated the children had duct taped themselves and sent the photos to a friend to show what the children had done. In the course of the investigation, the detectives learned the way the the children were duct taped in the photos that there was no way they could have done it themselves," said city spokeswoman Debbie George.
