Four policemen were among nine persons killed in a suicide attack on a mobile police van on Bannu-Kohat Road in Pakistan on Friday evening. Bannu and Kohat are two districts of Pakistan's troubled North West Frontier Province that borders restive tribal region of the country. Bannu is the only district where US drones recently killed six persons in a missile strike outside Pakistan's tribal region.
A suicide car bomber has killed seven people in the northwestern town of Bannu, police said here Friday, according to a foreign news agency. Bannu police chief Mohammed Alam Shinwari said the attacker rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a police car patrolling the town's streets on Friday. Shinwari said four police officers and three civilians died and several other people were wounded.
A blast is reported to have occurred in a hotel in the jurisdiction of Cantt. police station here on Friday, sources said.
