Suicide Bomb Blast in Wattala Sri Lanka

A Male LTTE suicide bomber has exploded himself close to St Ann's Catholic Church, at Hekitta, Wattala, Sri Lanka today morning 28th December 2008.

8 people have been killed and at least 19 others suffered serious injuries in the attack and admitted to the Ragama Hospital. Out of Casualties 14 Civil Defence Soildiers and 5 are innocent civilions who came to buy foods to Sunday Fair. Suicide attacker has exploded near a check point of Civil Defence Force at about 9 AM local time and all 6 died in the blast are Civil Defence Soildiers.

According to eyewitnesses, the suicide bomber had exploded himself when he was stopped by the security personnel on guard from entering the CDF office.

This was a LTTE’s suicide attack after long silence period.
