14 children have been killed after a suicide bomber attacked a government building.

This happened in the Khost province of Afghanistan, the building was next to a school.

Reports say a total 58 people were hurt, most of them children.

The attacker detonated an explosives-laden car he was driving when police opened fire to prevent him from reaching the government building where officials were meeting.

Local leaders were holding talks with the district governor about security and planning for next year's presidential elections.
