Civilization has finally arrived in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines, well it had to happen this small Filipino city will have its first large Mall.

On Monday 23rd November 2009 Dumaguete City goes one more step in its urbanization in the week that it has it’s main festival. This large shopping center will revolutionize the way people normally shop in this very small city.

A city already known for its diversity of restaurants and its beautiful parks and of course the marvels of it’s Boulevard and clean harbor. The city has seen much work on its roads and they have certainly improved. Tourism here is started to really flourish and more and more tourist are flocking to the city of the gentle people.

Now these same tourist will be able to shop to they drop in a modern Mall that will attract many more wonderful restaurants. I my self can not wait to visit and see what this new Robinsons Mall has to offer. Hopefully it will not cause a donut effect in the main city with business closing down. I feel that the city can sustain one Mall but no more at present.

This coming week should be a very entertaining and busy one it’s a week full of surprise the norm when we have a festival here. Parades and pageants and the feasts and the parks are filled with tents and merchants selling jewelry and clothes.  However the opening of the Mall will be the highlight for me and an indication that civilizations has final arrived in Dumaguete City not that it was not here already but its an improvement a very big improvement.
