Coming again to the forefront of Canadian news, is Vancouver's Insite facility, which is known as North America's only safe, supervised injection site for illegal drug users.  A facility located in the Downtown Eastside on Vancouver, British Columbia, was recently taken to the BC Court of Appeal and is now again being brought to question my Federal authorities after the split decision by the Court of Appeal that kept the facility from closing its doors to local drug users.

...With the extreme controversy surrounding illegal drug use and safe injection sites, the Insite facility has been under continuous criticism since opening its doors to users in 2003.  The facility was again under scrutiny; this time in the BC Court of Appeal.  After the early February visit to the British Columbia Court of Appeal, a decision on whether or not to close the heavily used Insite facility was brought to a split ruling.  Keeping the doors of the facility open for now, this ruling may only be a quick ‘fix’, so to speak, for the users of this controversial facility...

Recent headlines all over the news have been relaying that Federal Government is unhappy about this decision and that there may be plans of an appeal of this recent decision made by the British Columbia Court.
