Chief Justice John Roberts has just released an opinion refusing to block D.C.'s same-sex marriage law from taking effect tomorrow. Opponents of the law had asked the Supreme Court to step in and issue a temporary delay.

The D.C. law was passed in early October.  It has a

section that provides that no church or clergy member

will be required to perform gay marriages if that violate

their beliefs. They can also refuse to allow their facilities

and services to be used for gay marriages. There is a

movement nationwide to legalize same-sex marriages.

This is opposed by  conservative groups who say it will

have an adverse impact on children and people of faith.

Five states now have gay marriage  laws, Maine overturned

its same sex law in a November referendum.   New York

and New Jersey last year refused to pass such laws.

Civil Unions should bring the full round of equality to gay couples. Marriage is a religious thang.

This is America, we have separation of church and state, that works both ways. this article puts it better, secretlovechild.com/politics/43-pol-analysis/70-gay-marriage . Supposed to be by Michael Moore and Ann Coulter's secret love child, but I think that's just a gag lol
