Surabaya customs detain two Taiwanese for carrying drugs

Customs and excise officers at Surabaya`s Juanda international airport on Sunday evening detained two Taiwanese nationals for trying to smuggle in 7.215 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth around Rp8.55 billion.

The two Taiwanese, identified as Hsu Jui Hua and Yang Kuang Fu, had arrived on a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong.

They tried to smuggle the illicit drugs into Surabaya by wrapping the crystal methamphetamine in 29 bread packages.

The two foreigners are currently being detained at the East Java Police office for further investigation. (*) end
