Monica Beresford-Redman, the wife of award-winning 'Survivor' producer Bruce Beresford-Redman, who has been missing for two days in Cancun, was found dead Thursday in a sewer at the resort where they were on a family vacation, a Mexican official said according to the AP. The official from the attorney general's office in Quintana Roo state, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said police have named the TV producer as a suspect in his wife's death. No cause of death has been determined, however Reforma.com was reporting Thursday that Beresford-Redman may have been strangled. A witness at the Moon Palace Resort told officials that the couple had been seen arguing on Sunday. Earlier, CBS News reported that Monica Beresford-Redman went on a shopping trip on Monday and never returned. She was supposed to return home today, her birthday. After her disappearance, Bruce Beresford-Redman exuded confidence that his wife would be found. "I'm very hopeful someone will find my wife very soon. She still hasn't been located and we're looking," Bruce Beresford-Redman said in an interview. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that a missing person's report was filed and that the U.S. State Department and Embassy in Cancun had been notified. Aside from 'Survivor,' Bruce Beresford-Redman produced and wrote episodes of the car-centric show 'Pimp My Ride' and the short-lived reality series 'The Restaurant.'
