The Remains of a Woman Was Discovered Near Idaho Falls on April 23 But They Do Not Belong to Susan Powell

Susan Powell went missing on December 7 2009 and has not been seen or heard from since. When the remains of a woman were found just north of Ammon Idaho last Friday, police thought that they may be the remains of the missing woman. However, police have now confirmed that the remains do not belong to Susan Powell and Captain Tom McLachlan of the West Valley City Police announced the news to the media on Monday.

West Valley police say their Idaho counterparts believe the remains belong to an Idaho woman who disappeared in 2007.
However, no one will know for sure until forensics tests come back.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, there are two missing women from the area that could fit the description of the remains and location. Stephanie Eldredge went missing in August 2007 and Amber Hoopes has been missing since September 2001. Police did not release any further information about the body or if the circumstances were suspicious.

Susan Powell went missing late last year, at first with all of her family, in what police describe as 'suspicious circumstances', with her husband Josh Powell the only person of interest in the case. He has since moved back to Washington State with his two sons.

Susan Powell is 5 feet 4 inches and weighs about 130 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes and if anyone has any information about where she may be they are asked to call the West Valley Police Department at 801-840-4000.
