I was painting along the “Swamp Trail” today. It was warm and breezy, slightly overcast. Even though we have had rain, the woods were still dry. The feature that caught my eye was the swamp grass that my grandfather called “skunk cabbage.” So, I found a spot for my military style fold out chair, my paint box, and backpack. I painted a picture and watched all sorts of woodpeckers. I didn’t have my camera as it is on the fritz.

Anyway, a park ranger came along the “Carriage Trail” that is perpendicular to the “Swamp Trail” and asked if I had seen a bear. Just with the asking, I packed up and high tailed out of there.
