When my husband told me that someone had painted a swastika on the street in our neighborhood, I did not believe it. Then I saw it.

I find this so disturbing. I immediately reported it to the Homeowners Association. A board member told me that two mailboxes in the neighborhood had been spraypainted with red paint. Also a sign cautioning residents to drive safely was painted red.

I am so disturbed by this graffiti that I cannot express how deeply upset I am.

The swastika remains ubiquitous as a symbol of wealth and good fortune in Asia, Hitler demonized it using it in its mirrored format. The one on your street is a good message and not a bad one.

Swatika was a symbol to Aryan races which know as People which origin from Mesopathemian present Iraq ,Iran and spread up to the north India. Indusvally civilization was formed with these new comes. Hitler usess his main symbol as Swastic to show the Pure from all man kinds. Which some way gave some fear to the symbol. This is a common sign in Asia Specially India & Sri Lanka. It believes the wealth and health to the people. Babara dont get worry about it. Check whats the reson now it been  painted it as such.

Cheers!

Lol..! Maybe true. Some recession hit soul might have tried desperately to get some financial benifit, by painting swastika on the road. We can suspect this is some kind of ritual.

Forgive him..;)

No, but there is growing sentiment in the United States comparing Obama to Hitler. With the healthcare debate, more swatiskas are being painted as anti-Obama symbols. I find this very disturbing.

It may not be the "crime of the century" as you say, but it is a sign of gang related activities that persist in America.  You could say also that burning crosses in someone's lawn was not the "crime of the century," but are we to dismiss them as meaningless?  These are focused, premeditated acts of aggression for the purpose of harassment and intimidation.

In view of the anti-Obama symbols emerging, people who are outspoken about support for the president might be the chosen victims for hate groups.  Indeed, it is very disturbing, and should be taken seriously by local police.  And if they do not appear to be concerned, then report it to the FBI.
