When the avian flu scare arrived, no one questioned it. This time, things are different. Those with some brains, a memory and internet ingenuity are on the case. Let’s hope this message gets out.

Tamiflu is an antiviral medication used to treat influenza. It will be the prime medication sold to protect citizens from swine flu as it was for avian flu. All healthcare workers, military and essential service workers will need a dose available and it will be bought with your tax dollars.Tamiflu is made and patented by Gilead Sciences and Donald Rumsfeld was the chairman of this company before he joined the Bush administration. When the Avian Flu scare flashed across the television sets of Americans, Gilead Sciences stock went through the roof. Rumsfeld refused to sell his stock when he joined the Bush administration and the increase in stock value made him the richest man in that administration. Moreover, Gilead Sciences successfully lobbied a billion dollar contract with the U.S. military during the avian flu scare, giving each soldier access to the drug. Now, with the swine flu scare, the same players are about to make an even bigger fortune. Who are these people? They are all hardcore neoconservatives with a long history of paying for neocon agendas and campaigns and they have far-reaching capabilities to manufacture a media-constructed, influenza hoax. The actual flu may be real, but the panic surrounding it is the product of those who waited for another opportunity to knock, or sneeze.

The largest shareholder of Gilead Sciences is the FMR Corporation. This company is owned by Grover Glenn Norquist, a well-connected Republican activist with close ties to business and the media. Norquist was the Executive Director of the College Republican National Committee in the 1980's and he oversaw the transformation of the committee into a conservative grassroots powerhouse for the Reagan administration. His credentials and resume include being a:

-   Lobbyist for Microsoft
-   Member, board of directors, National Rifle Association
-   Member, board of directors, American Conservative Union
-   Member, Council on Foreign Relations (2001)
-   Consultant for Janus-Merritt Strategies, a lobbying firm

As we sit on the eve of a new influenza scare, the question is: will anybody pay attention to the fact that the last influenza scare didn’t become a pandemic, but it sure made neoconservatives rich. Rumsfeld, Norquist and Goldman Sachs (another major shareholder) do not have the general public's best interest at heart. They will manipulate every connection they have in government, media and the health-care industry to make this a financial windfall. I'm not insinuating they created the swine flu itself -they are just capitalizing on a virus that just isn't that much of a threat.

The regular run-of-the-mill strains of influenza kill more than 35 000 Americans every year and hospitalize another 200 000. Eighty people dying of disease in one of the dirtiest cities on earth is tragic, but it should not be used as an excuse to fill the coffers of a conservative faction that has already ripped off America of every penny it could during its time in office. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bush even stole the cutlery out of the White House before he left. The only hands that need washing are America's; washed of the filthy agenda of neoconservatives willing to exploit anything to make a buck.

Chicken little says the sky is falling. I agree this flu is real but the pandemic is going to be another hoax. I miss the days of the Avian Bird Flu that was going to kill all of us.

The reason why everyone is "over reacting" is because this Flu virus just like the Spanish flu cann mutate.If you vaccine the population it will make it worse because the virus will adapt and that is our only line of defence.That together with it being 1000 times more contagius than normal flu would mean tens of Millions of deaths in months.But as you say that is all maybe and in the future.Doctors have been warning about the new types of flu and the near impossible task of finding new cures.Problem is the flu is mutating which makes it more deadly in todays global network.Still think it is a bit strange why they choose this virus to shock the world.

There IS no provable cure for normal flu because every year it mutates like, omg you guessed it swine flue.

When you get ill and drink lemsip or take what ever to get better from flu... it doesn't do anything other than hide the symptoms that you are having.

There is so much more to worry about than some pig mutating flu. The nilist in me wants it to become a pandemic would serve us right spending billions on everything other than the real problem.

Funny thing that swine flu outbreak came out when Obama was in Mexico. As heard from source in Mexico, the US is planing to buy petrol from them, maybe they don't want to tell us so the the oil companies can keep raping us, just like the 9-11 scam.

People have been dying of various types of flu for ages, and flu epidemics are nothing today compared to what they were a hundred years ago. The hoax part is the commercialisation of disease through mass media scare tactics, and some people have been making obscene profits out of that. Remember the anthrax scare and the millions of antibiotics sold to the governments of Canada and US. We've been eating animals that carry bugs for ages, but animals have been recently rediscovered as a profiteering tool for the industry. A local case in point is the Avian Flu in Greater Vancouver, and the price of chicken that doubled, but has stayed there. How convenient.

Thanks for this report. A few years ago, I saw a video, and read reports on the history of pig breeding, especially by Smithfield, in VA, going back to the early 70s. By the time these inbred genetically engineered pigs are ready to be slaughtered, they are so full of hormones and chemicals that their immune system is GONE! Apparently, the pig farming industry had to appeal to specialty pig farmers, who still raised the older breed genes, without the chemicals, for showing at state fairs, etc.

Remember the slogan "The other white meat!" that refers to pigs whose meat turns white due to massive, long term inbreeding, chemical and hormonal treatments. Naturally raised pigs have pinkish red meat.

Fortunately, there is a strong movement toward free range, organicly raised pigs.

And, of course, the owners of the antiviral company will make another fortune with this new epidemic. This won't be the last, because farming methods aren't changing fast enough to correct their earlier mistakes. Citizens can't be so trusting anymore.

Actually, I believe this flu bug was concocted in the Washington, D.C. offices of "J Street", the George Soros run PAC.

Obama and puppetmaster Soros want to decimate the American population, declare Martial Law, abolish Civil Liberties (especially the 2nd Amendment), and suspend Posse Comitatus.

This may be a dry run for the takeover

-or this might be the full deal, where they go for the jugular.

John, however crazy your theory sounds, I feel it is fairly on the level. Although the previous regime is no doubt profiting from it, Rumsfeld for example, it is not their style. Both you and guru have some valid points, but I think they are a little more colaborative than conflicting. Obama is a puppet, I agree, one may even be able to compare him to the Manchurian candidate. Nothing he is doing is new though. Almost everything he has done is copycatting someone else. His campaign was Barry Goldwater's "Change", one of the things that Bush Jr. did that the public actually approved of is the stimulus. What does Obama start promising to nail down his victory...stimulus. Bush has a national crisis that in turn allows for a somewhat unnecessary war, and insodoing makes his investors and the companies of the lobbyists that commonly win over conservatives: oil, weapons and building contractors. Obama has the pandemic, swine flu which is so complex it was almost assuredly engineered, and who are the common lobbyists for liberals. The unions were taken care of with the fake stimulus and the pharmasudical companies and insurance companies are taken care of with the medicine for the flu.

Bush was a puppet. I am not a republican nor am I a democrat. Obama does not fit ethnically, culturally or even socioeconomically into the common generalizations that even the most secret closet racists associate black american males with. Having any preconceived notions about someone's race is racist, everyone is a racist. I just can't wait until we are all so mixed up that there are no minorities or majorities, and the only race will be the human one. Like you said, "EVERY president is a liar," and I have overlooked nothing; I just did not have time to write a book.

There is a possibility that this strain has been lab-created. I found this story yesterday and it raises some interesting points:

the deadest killer flu in history, Spanish Flu in 1918. Most if not all nations with advanced biological warfare programs have been interested in recreating the Spanish Flu DNA sequence and several are reported to have done so.

The new Mexican Swine Flu has elements of DNA from the following: avian flu, human flu Type A, human flu Type B, Asian swine flu, and European swine flu. A strange combination never seen before and having less than 1/10% chance of being a natural event. Human and animal viruses from four or more continents suddenly recombine in a new flu during a non-flu season that spreads from human-to-human with a 10% fatality rating.
