Swine flu vaccine available but lagging

The supplies of the swine flu vaccine are way behind schedule, as the US struggles to meet 10% of the projected swine flu vaccine supplies for October.

Swine flu vaccine supplies are lagging behind projected figures and demand as only 13 million of the promised 120 million swine flu vaccine doses are available in the US. Roughly only 10+% of the swine flu vaccine projected figure is available to the American public as production is running several weeks behind schedule.

The US government puts the blame on pharmaceutical companies and those which produce the syringes for the vaccines. Meanwhile, thousands who need the swine flu vaccine, especially with the drastic rise in swine flu victims in recent weeks, can do nothing but wait for supply to meet demand.

Government health officials blame the slow swine flu vaccine production on pharmaceutical companies who undertake a slow and outdated production process that relies on millions of chicken eggs. Also, factories that produce the syringes for the swine flu vaccine have also slowed down.
