Syria Protests Continue Amid Tank Attacks

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is stepping up the crackdown on anti-regime protests, but it isn't working as he expected. You can see video footage of the ongoing demonstrations, as well as footage of tanks rolling through city streets, below.

Al-Jazeera's live coverage of the Syria uprising is gripping. While Assad thought that sending in tanks and artillery against his citizens would quell dissent ald allow him to hold onto power, everyday Syrians are only getting more angry.

Protesters were chanting, "The people demand the execution of the president": this is, in all fairness, a predictable result to Assad's actions. Even during Ramadan, there are well over 100,000 protesters in the streets in defiance of the regime.

Doing more?  America started the whole thing and is keeping it going with Israel's help. Same goes for Libya and for tossing out Mubaruk to bring in the new generation of proxy rulers.
