The School-in-a-Box is the ultimate feel good gift to pack on your safari to give to a poor nomadic child in the developing world. The kit is a neatly packed box of school supplies and materials for a teacher and students. It includes pencils, scissors, scrap paper, protractors, coloured stickers and a biro. Using the School-in-a-Box teachers can establish makeshift classrooms anywhere. Find out how to make one of your own.

Hahahaha!  This is brilliant!  I could laugh even harder if only I didn't know that such ridiculous ideas are proffered as long term solutions for countries mired in poverty - as though somehow those who are poor & living in the developing world have different aspirations and ambitions to the rest of us.  What a joke.  Excellent and well-needed mockery.

Another corker from the missionary hut where mere survival is celebrated as innovation. It reminded me of WORLDwrite's documentary series called Pricking the Missionary Position where a Ghanaian Professor says that it is as if the West are saying we will do the high level thinking and you can do the low level work with no need for development.

Yep very funny love the presenter looking at Bono and the health & safety bit very funny if only such patronising gifts weren't so common JUST HAND OVER THE CASH i say, the West should stop assuming a) people in the developing world can't be trusted and are child like & b) this is some sort of different species who only have basic needs and wouldn't want lots of universities or anything so 'unsustainable' . Good to extract the urine once in a while especially on the demeaning nonsense wrapped up as 'help'.
