Five Children Killed in Taliban Bus Attack
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for an attack on a school bus near Peshawar, northern Pakistan, which left a teacher and at least five children dead.
The children were between nine and 14 years old, and were on their way home from a private school in Matani, in the Tribal Region. Matani has been the scene of previous Taliban attacks, as the group considers the area "pro-government".
19 other children were wounded in the attack, which was carried out by four gunmen, who first shot at the bus with a rocket.
The US, which has just had its deadliest month in Afghanistan since the invasion, describes Matani as the most dangerous region in the world.
