Taliban Leader Says He Will Teach Lesson To Israel
Central leader of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Baitullah Mehsud, said on Saturday that he will teach a lesson to Israel if it did not stop attacking on Gaza Strip.
According to a report published on the Urdu language website of BBC, Mehsud called from an undisclosed location in Waziristan and claimed that his suicide bombers can target Israel anywhere in the world.
‘We will teach Israel such a lesson that it will never dare to attack Muslims again,’ the BBC quoted him as saying in a fragile voice, but, according to the report, he said that his health condition was now better than before.
He also claimed that his fighters had broken the spy network operating in the area to prevent the drone attacks which have been targeting Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters and have reportedly killed a number of them.
Though Israeli attacks on Gaza Strip in Palestine were condemned across Muslim world, it is the first time that the Taliban leader in Pakistan, Baitullah Mehsud, wanted to the government of Pakistan in the Benazir Bhutto murder, spoke about the issue in a threatening tone.
His statement came amid reports that the Israeli cabinet is likely to adopt a ceasefire in Gaza.
