"Tall, dark and handsome"

The Italian Premier Mr. Berlusconi has commented to President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia of the newly elected President of the America as, "Tall, Handsome and sun-tanned". It was all over the front page news in Italy, getting the same uproar when Mr. Obama won the Presidential campaign, but not the good kind.

From the Italian's Centre Left Opposition party Mr. Walter Vetroni commented that the slight remark did more damage than good,
it " seriously damage the image and dignity of our country on the international scene", however it was intended as a light hearted comparison between President Dmitri Medvedev of Russia good looks to that of Mr. Obama of America. He called for Mr. Berlusconi to make official apologies.
