I never tasted any of the Taltarni wines nor remember noticing them.

What piqued my curiosity at first was How to Pour Sparkling Wine with Loïc Le Calvez (on Chow) or should I say the Britanny link of the story.

With a name like Loïc Le Calvez, the senior winemaker of Taltarni Vineyards had to have Breton roots (like myself).

I discovered that he got his taste for wine from his father who owns a number of wine stores in the Celtic region.

The Age offered Harvesting Australian vintage with a Gallic passion (March 2004) a profile of Loïc Le Calvez. From various other pieces I gathered that he has strong opinions which could be defined as a French trait...
