TEA Party Express: Tax Protest Takes on Obama Health Care Reform

It's called the TEA Party Express and its goal is to take on the proposed Obama health care reform. Capitalizing on the momentum and following built up by the popular TEA Party protests against tax-and-spend government policies, the TEA Party Express will take on Washington on September 12.

The TEA Party Express is a bus tour that started August 28 in Sacramento, California. The TEA Party Express will move across the country with an eye on Washington, picking up supporters as it goes. The caravan will arrive at the nation's capital on September 12 and begin a three day march on Washington to protest Obama's proposed health care reforms.

The TEA Party movement began as a reaction to "big government" after the corporate sector bailouts began. An acronym, TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already. TEA Party supporters and the TEA Party Express have now set their sights on health care as the latest example of proposed runaway spending by government.

"What brought everything together was the Obamacare idea, which contains every odiferous objection," Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams said Friday. "Is it health care? [Sen. Ted] Kennedy care?" Video Watch CNN's Jim Spellman's tour with the group ยป

Conservative groups such as Freedom Works, run by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, Campaign Liberty and the Institute for Liberty are just some of those who will attend the march.

It is just, as I have said before, an obstructionist bump on the extremes of normal political dialog, in an environment where even the center and center right is Democratic. The confused need somewhere to congregate and the Tea Party serves as their assembly time. Bless 'em

You're probably not old enough to remember the Peace Army in the UK, same MO coaches to garner supporters, violent sons of guns that literally fought at demonstrations for 'peace' and ended up killing and wounding quite a few police, army and innocent bystanders. I was in the service at the time and they were mean. Same ilk as the Tea Party. They will get violent. It is only a matter of when.

I do want to emphasis that these tea parties are a result of both Bush and Obama fiscal policies.  Too many folks think the tea parties are the result of this president.  These protests were being negotiated prior to Obama takeing office during the bailouts and expansion of government under Bush.
