I have to be honest. I sat down here wanting to write another mouthy screed about the Tea Part Movement. After I read an article or two about Saturday's Tea Party protest on House Democrats in Congress, I immediately thought of that title; first thing that popped into my head. It made me laugh, I thought it was clever, and stuff...and I jumped up, sat down at the machine, and wrote several sentences...then deleted...wrote a few words...deleted...and so on. So...I dunno what to say. It's an easy story to use to insult these people, to call them names, make snarky comments about their intelligence and all that good stuff that's fun to say and write. The more I think about it, I guess it kind of makes sense that people like this exist. And they shouldn't be condemned for that. But when you start literally spitting at, and shouting out "nigger" and "faggot" at Congressmen, you have lost the war. Not the battle, not "the fight", but the WHOLE DAMN WAR. Why kick a dying animal when it's down?

Here's something that Noam Chomsky said about this movement:

"The reaction we should be having to them is not ridicule, but self-criticism. We are the ones that ought to be organizing them, not Rush Limbaugh. There are historical analogs, which are not exact, of course, but are close enough to be worrisome. This is a whiff of early Nazi Germany. Hitler was appealing to groups with similar grievances and giving them crazy answers, but at least they were answers: that is, they blame the Jews and the Bolsheviks. They were the problem."

I always felt that it was kind of ironic that some of these people have taken to comparing Obama to Hitler, when it is they who are in fact more representative of the mental state of millions of Germans involved in the birth of the Nazi Party. They are a people fueled by aggravation and needing a rationalization to project their anger. They have people like Rush, and Glenn Beck, and "The Michel(l)e's" (Malkin and Bachman), and Tom Tancredo, and Sarah Palin giving them some "crazy answers." Of course, this is different. In Germany they had signs that said "Achtung Juden". And this time, it's "nigger" and "faggot". Totally different.

I know that there are plenty of teabaggers that would claim that they are not racists, and that this is just a fringe element to the party. But these things pop up at every rally-- EVERY SINGLE ONE. How can people who were furious at Obama for his association with Reverend Wright not condemn people like this? And look-- I don't care that they are racists; if you want to be stupid, that's your problem. But you cannot expect to be taken seriously.

All this idiocy, immaturity, ignorance...all of this to fight against Health Care Reform. Well, it's Health Care Reform now...it'll be Finance Reform later...then Education Reform...any kind of reform to these people is dangerous because it represents the kind of change that they don't like...the change that may level out the playing field:

"These people think, "I've done everything right all my life, I'm a god-fearing Christian, I'm white, I'm male, I've worked hard, and I carry a gun. I do everything I'm supposed to do. And I'm getting shafted." And, in fact, they are getting shafted. For 30 years their wages have stagnated or declined, the social conditions have worsened, the children are going crazy, there are no schools, there's nothing, so somebody must be doing something to them, and they want to know who it is. Rush Limbaugh has answered: it's the rich liberals who own the banks and run the government and run the media. They don't care about you. They just want to give everything away to illegal immigrants and gays and communists and so on."-- Noam Chomsky

America is always changing. That's what it does. And for reasons that we all know, and many of us refuse to accept, change is inevitable. We have evolved a great deal over the years, and we will continue to do so. And like with many strong social changes that have taken place, they are all met with anger, and animosity, from people who think the world will explode with change. To believe that, is to not believe in America. It is to doubt who we are and what we represent. To not believe that we are capable of smarter, better things is to be trapped in a mindset that is truly antithetical to freedom and liberty. You are either a part of this society, or you are not. You will evolve, or you will get left behind. That's the way nature works.

I just do not think, unfortunately, that the teabaggers really represent an America that I am familiar with. The only thing that I can ascertain from their protests is that they don't like the Black Muslim President. And taxes-- they hate taxes, and the Black President. And Health Care Reform. I think this story gets a lot of coverage because it's so hateful, and foolish. And maybe it's because I live in New York, but I am yet to meet a person that would want to affiliate themselves with the teabaggers. This party represents a section of the nation that...well, just hates. They hate so much that when they're painted in a corner, when they are intellectually defeated, they resort to the only thing they know...shouting slurs at Congressmen, and the handicapped...

These are the kind of people you want running the country?

You can add "baby killer" to that growing list of slurs yelled against congressmen.  Oh, wait, that was a congressman that yelled that.  Hmm ...

aside from typos... this is a very well thought out opinion article. i appreciated reading it very much. good work. also the quotes are excellent. i don't pay attention to news much because i'm distressed enough, but this was a good way to learn a little about this disturbing current in the USA. i fear the nation i was born in because of these hate-filled people. people like this even created a hate-blog to slander and harass me. hate goes unchecked and it creates more hate. the more hate you point at a target, the more likely it is to learn to hate back because it's impossible to reason with mindless hate. once attempts at reasoning fail, hate sets in. or defeat. but defeat leads to bitterness and hate, so defeat tends to be a path to hate.

these people feels angry and they've been told who to point their weapons at by "authorities" who are hate-mongers.

what a wonderful nation.

what a horrific species, humans.

Thanks Jace-- I'm sorry about the typos. I have developed a bad habit with blogging, which is not proofreading my work. I usually just write it very quickly, and move on. In the last few months, I have been really forcing myself to reread what I've typed...but I did not do it here. Sorry! I've gone over it, and fixed as many of the typos as I could find.

the future

So I stumbled upon this article looking for the minimum age requirement for running for congress. I was at the 9-12 project in DC, the Tea Party protest, call it what you like, and I did not witness any racist or obscene acts nor did anyone else I asked that also attended. The point is, the 100,000 plus that showed up in DC that day were there to protest governmental takeover of the economy. There is no place for the government in health care. It can not run social security or medicare, so why would one trust the government with ones health? Health insurance, i.e. catastrophic damage or injury as well as severe sickness is what people need. If you have a cold, need pills, want a checkup, then pay for it! People do not realize how much medical expenses are because they never pay for them. You start having people pay for checkups and sore throats as well as preventing the medical monopoly hospitals have and costs will go down. When you can essentially "shop around" then you can drive down prices with competition. What Congress is trying to force down our throats is more of a collective cost sharing program where the rich pay for the poor. I do not know about you, but I am not a fan of paying for anyone's medical expenses through taxes. You spoke of the protesters resembling the Nazi party. No my friend, it is the leaders in charge who are moving us towards a Fascist, state-run economy, and it must be stopped because who will save the government when it is in over its head and bankrupts?

100,000, surely you jest, maybe ten to twenty. However, it doesn't matter if you had one million in attendence as it is a mere percentage of our total population. Of course, your histoy is most suspect comparing liberals to Fascists when it is the Republicans that support the military and industrial complexes in this country. And BTW, why shouldn't the wealthy give back, fairly, to this country since they benefit from all our government provides to them, some  of which I greatly disagree with. Even after the horrible and greedy decisions by our "trusted" financial institutions, people such as yourself rail against reform, egad! If socialism is coming, I sure wish that it would hurry up. Sadly, the lies and attacks are not over from the religious, conservative right, including TBs, who claim to be so compassionate but continue to choose to live in anger and fear.

When people are talking about Health Care Reform, no one is talking about paying for people that get a sore throat looked at, or for cold pills, or standard checkups. The main point of reform is control the costs of having to get chemotherapy treatments, or extended hospitals stays for injuries or disease. Do you mean to tell me that you honestly don't believe that people have gone bankrupt by trying to pay for medical care? You don't think that there are insurance companies dropping patients because of so-called pre-existing conditions? Do you expect people, who do not have insurance or who's insurance company drops them when they are ill, to give up everything they own just to be healthy? What do you do about all of that?

The system needs to be reformed, period. The only thing that people like that teabaggers are willing to do is toss around stale talking points and empty rhetoric to try to oppose something that they really know very little about. Vapid, adolescent statements, like "Fascist, state-run economy" don't really mean anything. It's just something heard on Fox News and parroted as catch phrase that doesn't require much thought. And ask any Jew that lived through the holocaust if Barrack Obama is similar to Adolph Hitler. Again, it's a stupid thing to say that has absolutely no barring on reality.

Republicans and teabaggers alike are fond of saying that the public overwhelmingly opposes Health Care Reform. And it's true-- people do not accept Health Care Reform...the way YOU PEOPLE have packaged it. Yes, you make "Health Care Reform" sound like a scary thing that will destroy America. But when you ask that same public about specific provisions in the Health Care Bill, guess what happens? They are ALL FOR IT. So yes, they are opposed to Health Care they way that it is defined by Republicans and teabaggers. But when Liberals, Progressives, and Democrats define it...the people LOVE it.

I feel bad that Fox News and people like Dick Armey have found a way to take advantage of uneducated people to manipulate them into voting against their interests. And I say "uneducated" as not a way of saying "stupid", but a way of addressing a group of people that read very little, and truly do not know the details about what they are debating. They just know they're angry, and people at Fox are enabling the anger by telling teabaggers what they want to hear-- what they NEED to hear to rationalize their anger. Because really-- if you cared this much about big government takeovers, this movement would have existed back in 2003.

I'm not trying to pick on you "thefuture". And you are not the first teabagger that I've heard that said that they did not run into any racism or people like that, at any of the rallies they've been to. I believe you. It takes a real nut to yell "nigger" or hold witch doctor/voo-doo signs; most people do not wear their racism out to display. But none of you are doing anything about that image. Not one thing. Because all you really care about is how many people showed up at the rally-- doesn't matter if they're bigots or not, IT'S THE NUMBERS THAT COUNT. Well, that's part of your problem. You people don't really stand for anything other than your egos. You bitch and moan, but offer no solutions. And you allow people to make physical threats and racial slurs towards our President. So, well, why should anyone take you seriously?

Look,   You have got to be kidding me. If you are happy the way our government does business than you honestly must not see the corruption. I donot care what legislation we are trying to pass. Their is no leadership on either side of the political fence. People are tired of the corruption. Supporting any legislation is unacceptable. Those who support this must need hand outs to be successful. Equal pay for equal work. If you don't work, you dont get paid,  paid. If you lost your job differ story. If you quit your job, tough get over it. You do not deserve nothing but a sorry. We are breedig an indentured servent society. The democrats want to control the people with social programs, The republicans want business to control everybody, the independents want to pick and chose. This country is about to be adrift because the the absolute truth of anything is so convuluded. This country is no longer america. It is the land of the lost. The reason we have to give medical coverage to all the people is because the democrats do not plan on fixing the job situation. They want you to sit at home watch the liberal tv and vote for them because they gave you freedom. They have provided everything for you. Welfare, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and Hollywood. Now they are going to take your weapons so you can never uprise against them. You just watch and then we will be invaded by many countries for our natural resources the dems tried to protect. What a mess.           GLTA

You are off topic, and throwing out more stale talking points and conspiracy theories than I have the energy to attempt to keep up with. "This country is no longer america," and blah-blah-blah. What country are we, exactly? I wonder what you thinking when you found out that the Bush Administration lied us into a war with Iraq-- where was your contempt for government then? Where was your cry for a "lost" America when you people sat silently while the wealthiest 1% took control of your politicians? I'm sorry, using Health Care as a scapegoat for your pining for a "dead America" is not intellectually sound.

"Those who support this must need hand outs to be successful"? Oh yeah? Like the bankers? And the Health Care industry? You are throwing a great deal of assumptions on people that sincerely need help. You claim to care about America, but clearly know nothing about what is going on in it. If you think that all that Health Care Reform constitutes is free clinic care for poor people, then it is you that is living in the "land of the lost". It's just silly, really-- you go from talking about Hollywood to taking your weapons away? What the hell are you talking about?! I'm really trying not to be nasty or mean, but I'm telling you...nothing that you wrote really makes any sense as one complete thought.

Yes, yes, yes, we are breeding an indentured servent society-- no sh*t. And you are probably one of them-- one of the servants. You go to work, like a robot, do your tasks, go home, turn on the tv, go to sleep, and repeat...right? Another cog in the machine, right? Another soul tapped into The Matrix. So what's good, Neo? What are you going to do about it? All your bitching and complaining-- what's the plan? How do we solve all of these problems? You have no answers, do you? Or nothing that you can talk about without working in Fox or Alex Jones talking points.

Sigh. This country is in a bit of trouble, it's true. The trouble is a lack of education. Most of the people in this country don't have the intellectual fortitude to hold an intelligent debate, so they turn to yelling and repeating moronic talking points. When is someone-- ANYONE-- in this teabagger movement going to make a legitimate and coherent argument?!

Are you saying here that change for the sake of change is good? Or that all changes in America are good? Some would say that America has devolved over the years as opposed to evolve.

The Tea Party sees an America devolving instead of evolving. "Progressives", the antithesis of The Tea Party, see America as a racist/homophobic/xenophobic society that needs to be stripped down to its bare bones and rebuilt into a new nation.

Perhaps both groups are nuts . . . .

"Change for the sake of change"? The only thing that's bad about change is when it's something that teabaggers and Republicans don't want to change. Does our Health Care system need to change? Yes it does. The same way that our education system needs to change. The same way that the financial industry has to change. The thing about change that these people are afraid of is "change", as branded by the anti-Obama crowd, and co-opted by the teabaggers and Republicans. These people are afraid of this evil monster called "Change"-- it's coming to get your freedom and liberty, AND your guns!!!!!! Which is bullsh*t, of course...but you people need something scream about. Socialism, Fascism, Communism, Marxism...all straw-man garbage. I like Bill Maher said:

"There's this word that is stuck in their throats, and they want to say it SOOOOO BAD!! And it starts with an "N" and ends with an "R", and I don't mean 'nation builder'."

And I know so many of you 'baggers are very fond of saying "I'm not a racist", or "I've been to 30 rallies, and I've never seen anything like that." Right. This leads me to what you, "Rory Cripps" wrote about devolving. I can't think of any other group that is more devolved than the teabaggers. I really cannot. And let me tell you, the only "racist/homophobic/xenophobic" thing that Progressives see are TEABAGGERS. The rest of us have no problems with Black/ Brown/Yellow/Red/Green/Blue peoples OR their cultures. You people are the ones holding up Obama witch doctor and voo-doo signs, you're the ones that support Tom Tancredo's literacy tests for Mexicans, YOU ARE THE ONES that see "America changing" into something that you don't like: a truly multicultural nation.

Only a true American, a true patriot, knows that the thing that has always made this country great is it's growth and evolution. We are to strive to continue to make this nation great. And you do that...by evolving; learning and growing, and pushing forward. Most people who fear "Change" are people who don't have a very wide spectrum socially, intellectually, or emotionally. Things like stem cell research, gay rights, civil rights legislation, health care and financial and education reform, worker's rights, women's rights, child safety laws, seat belt requirements, auto insurance-- ALL OF THESE THINGS, and more, came about through change and evolution.  All of that, and no one took your guns away, or put troops on the street, or told your grandma that she had to die...it's just so stupid.

I have to say that I have never seen a group of people whine and bitch SO MUCH about things that have not, and will not, happen. You people have had 30 years-- hell, you had the last 6 years, to say something-- to complain about how the government was getting too big, and allowing corporations to take more and more of  your money...government that TRULY did NOTHING for you  (and don't give me that "they kept us safe" bullsh*t either-- 9/11 was not safe, it happened on their watch). And now, NOW you want to be concerned. Well, I think your so-called concerns are ridiculous. But, then again, if I watched nothing but Fox News, and didn't bother doing any other reading or research, I might think the way you think.

If Glenn Beck is your Walter Cronkite, you get what you deserve.

The health care bill will insure that America declines even further.  Sure, some people who are at the bottom of the totem pole cannot afford adequate health inusrance.  For medical care they just go to the emergency room.  Ask any mexican.   The original post described the Tea Party members as monkeys.  Tell me honestly........... who most resembles monkeys or apes........... Tea Party people or kneegers?

1
cconyersjr

This is probably the most brain-dead of posts I've received on this site, period. I guess "kneegers" is what small-minded passive-aggressive types say, instead of manning up and writing "nigger". Add the lack of an intelligible, or articulate, or sensible argument, once again proves that a teabagger is nothing more than an empty, brainless shell, fueled only by their narcissism, arrogance, and unadulterated ignorance. THUS proving my point, that when cornered intellectually, they resort to what they know: "Shut up, nigger!" "Screw you, faggot!" "Go home, Mexican!" The non-contributing ZERO has spoken.

It's amazing to me that a group of people would be so full of themselves, so sure of their superiority, could be so absolutely...well, stupid. There is this quarter of the White American population that actually thinks that they are better than anyone else-- particularly any brown or foreign person. The people that trumpet the most about this so-called greatness are seemingly placing themselves in the shoes of others that came before them, and have actually accomplished something. And they've been given political legitimacy by the Republican Party, much in the same way that the media continues to give legitimacy to bimbos like Sarah Palin, or Glenn Beck. These uneducated, naive, intellectually lazy people-- the teabaggers and other uninformed, clueless voters-- are being used, and spoon-fed their own sh*t, JUST so some politicians can get votes, lobbyists can keep their jobs, and corporations can make better deals.

teabaggers can be so dumb, and I really feel sorry for them. All they do is parrot other people's talking points, that were being used to manipulate them anyway. And when they've exhausted the script, they've got nothing else but venom and bile; and that makes them look and sound stupid. None of them will answer your questions intelligently. NONE OF THEM WILL. They won't give you facts to support their views because they are not interested in mature debate. The  only sad part in this is that this new Health Care Reform Bill, while NOT PERFECT, will also protect those that are opposed to it-- the idiots that think it will destroy America...as if THIS BILL is the ONLY THING that has damaged this country (a bill that hasn't even gone into effect yet!!!).  I wish there was a way to keep people like this off. And, "God" forbid, they get sick, or get hurt...the insurance companies will be able to treat them the way they did before the legislation went into effect: raise their rates, not cover pre-existing conditions, pick and choose which procedures they will cover...LET THESE IDIOTS go back to that. And let them stick to their guns. Let them get left behind. It's what they want. That way, they can stay in the past, and wallow in their greatness, like swine in a pen.

Think_First

I am a very middle-class, married without children homeowner who is self-employed.  I have savings, I have paid off most of my home, but until last week I faced almost certain bankruptcy should anything else go wrong - should I be hit by a car or be diagnosed with any of the many cancers.  Why? because I am un-insurable due to a health crisis I had while I was young.  I don't have a "condition".  I am healthy - eat organically, workout 5 days a week etc etc.  No matter - un-insurable. Medicaid and social security are a long way off.  I am not the bottom of the heap as ignorant and angry people like you would love to believe.  Now, I don't have children, and wonder why I should pay to educate other people's children when I don't get any direct benefit.  But I do.  Why?  because we don't live in caves, we are a society and part of our contract is to help each other.  And I understand that the better off we are as a society, then the more I benefit as a member of that society.Ask yourself. Why does it upset you to have government healthcare?  Do you also hate social security, medicaid and education?  It is not a bad thing to have differing opinions, it is not bad to argue.  But think about what you are saying and ask yourself why it makes you angry to help people.  DId the trillions we spent in Iraq make you as angry as the money we are talking about spending here - in this country - on our citizens - and, by the way, the money will also pay other of our citizens to perform these tasks, which is good for the economy

the future

Talk is cheap. cconyserjr, all you do is accuse everyone of being a racist. You say that nobody wants to debate, all we do is argue and everything is a talking point on fox or glen beck. So let me start off with little quote of yours, ""Change for the sake of change"? The only thing that's bad about change is when it's something that teabaggers and Republicans don't want to change. Does our Health Care system need to change? Yes it does. The same way that our education system needs to change. The same way that the financial industry has to change." I agree that all of those need to be refined. I do not believe that it is the governments place though. From logic alone, the way the government runs social security (going bankrupt), medicare (too damned expensive), and just about everything else the government touches (education, road design, the war in Iraq), how could you possibly want the government running your health care? Now back to your comment on health care being a free clinic for the poor. There will always be poor people, regardless of their misfortune: job loss, lack of motivation, poor circumstances. Now, there are not millions upon millions of Americans going bankrupt from health care expenses. People went broke because they bought houses on 1% interest and never thought payments would rise. They went broke because they bought that new BMW when it was well above their means to pay it off. They probably took out a home equity loan just to get it. I have no sympathy for those people. But for those who legitimately suffer from misfortune, there are ways to deal with paying off their medical expenses such as long term loans through the government where they slowly pay off the loan through tax breaks. But honestly, if they never pay off the full extent of their bill so be it, the government eats that cost. The hospital does it now anyways when people never pay back the bill. They make up for the loss in higher prices for people with insurance who never the bill anyways. The most important point to this "free clinic" is preexisting conditions. I do not believe you should be declined because you have something like asthma. However, let us debate the true meaning of insurance. Should it cover everything from injury to regular checkups to cosmetic surgery? I believe insurance at its core should only cover catastrophic injury and sickness. I know Geico and State Farm don't cover oil changes and tires for your car...then it is no longer INSURANCE where you share RISK, but instead a GUARANTEE where you share COST. That being said, if you have a preexisting condition like asthma and you get coverage, it should not include your asthma treatment. But if that same person suddenly has a heart attack, then obviously it would be covered because it is no longer COST sharing, it is RISK sharing. So for all of those people who have cancer or whatever else and made a conscious decision to not get insurance and all of a sudden want "insurance" to cover their expenses, that is not what INSURANCE is for. They want people to share their expenses. And yes, I do believe it is everyone's right to have access to INSURANCE.

cconyersjr

Yay! FINALLY, one of you 'baggers grew a pair!

Now, let's see...where do I start...?

"Talk is cheap?" Yeah, and if that's the case, the teabagging people are living in squalor.

All I do is accuse people of being racists? Well, not really-- just the racists. And don't get me wrong-- I don't care if people are racists. Someone made a point recently that maybe many of these people just don't know that they're being racist. I thought about that for a moment, but came to disagree with that. I think there are many people that don't want to ADMIT that they are, because it's socially unacceptable. And at the end of the day, I'm really just trying to figure out why and how people can make outlandish and crazy claims based on sound bites and conspiracy theories. And I opt for 3 reasons; crazy, ignorant, or racist.  It's got to be one of those three, seriously. I would LOVE to believe that it's just ignorance, and if people were thoroughly educated on the issues, then maybe you'd see and hear a lot more reasonable and mature debate. But...eh...not seeing it.

By the way, I did not say "Change for the sake of change"-- that was another teabagging guy that I was speaking to. I was just repeating what  he said. I don't believe in the concept of just changing something for no reason. Do yourself a favor, and pay more attention-- or just calm down and think about what you write before you write it.

Now, you're comparing Health Care to the House Market...and that doesn't hold water. People NEED health care. They DON'T need a house they can't afford...or were lied into THINKING they could afford. I mean, I agree that the whole subprime mortgage mess is as much the consumer's fault-- why would ANYONE think about buying a house (or anything else) that they can't, and will probably never, afford? It's stupid. Having said that...how does that compare with your insurance company dropping you because you found out you have cancer? Or going bankurpt because you had to pay your medical bills? These aren't lazy, poor, non-working, complacent people that are wanting government hand outs...these are people that are suffering because the system is corrupt-- the free market system that cares more about making money than it does taking care of people. Whenever anyone talks about "the market taking care" of itself, sure-- that's great, in theory. That's great, if you fully rely on the "milk of human kindness"...but we don't have that. There is no perfect world with corporations go out of their way to make sure they take care of their customers. In THIS world, they want your money. And they will get it ANY WAY they know how. And when they provide incentives to their representatives to cut off "consumers" that are costing the company "too much money"...and people either go broke, and/or die trying...that's the market taking care of itself. And it doesn't work. It needs to be regulated, period.

Now, to get what you were saying about what insurance would/should cover, you are right. It should cover and take care of catastrophic illness and disease. It should not (and will not) cover cosmetic surgery-- they're even taxing those who use tanning beds. And you're right-- just like auto insurance does not cover oil or tire changes, they will cover you if someone hits you. If you have AAA, they will tow you if you get stuck. Or give you a jump, or a battery if you need it (you pay for that membership). Yes you still have to pay for these things, but they are provided to you (and at the same time, is regulated).

What you are saying to "all those people" with cancer or "whatever"...sigh. I hope you are never in a position where you have cancer or "whatever", and if you're insured, you will at least know that you will not be dropped. No one will, ever again. Most of us have to start taking care of ourselves more; stop eating garbage, exercise, that kind of stuff. There are always going to be people that try to game the system-- hey, some people are lazy dead beats-- that's just the way it is. But the doomsday scenario that assumes that most people will get screwed is hyperbolic and silly. Costs will be controlled, no one will go bankrupt for having to pay their medical bills, insurance companies won't drop you, and costs will be fair. THOSE are important things, especially the bulk of us who are out here working for a living.

Wow, this is one of the most inarticulate posts I've ever read. Talk about blindness-- you're just chomping at the bit to allow all that anger to flow though you. The problem is, like with most other teabaggers, you sound ignorant and uneducated. Therefore, people cannot really take you seriously. I mean, that's what happens with ANYONE that tries to speak while spitting venom. You don't think, you can't reason...leaving whatever you're trying to say to emulate verbal flatulence.

What you wrote was short...because you don't really have that much to say, obviously. You really just wanted to show me how pissed off you were about what I wrote. So, just like I said with the article, I have to decide whether or not I'm just going to debase you for your ignorance, OR try to speak to you like a rational human being. I'd rather just write and see what happens. Here we go:

Thoughtful people tend to self-edit. Thoughtful people like to think about what they are saying to before they speak (or write, in this case). The false starts I had with this article, as I stated before, were a result of not wanting to just write a bunch of insults (like you are doing). I was really, REALLY trying to articulate things without sounding like a frothing mad idiot. I MAY have succeeded...maybe not. Again, a thoughtful person would consider these things. So, you telling me that I have no clue as to what I am writing about is completely false. You're either not paying attention to what you are reading, or you don't understand what you read. But, like most 'baggers, that won't stop you from making an uninformed comment. And it's not like you can't LOOK UP AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE and read the article to see what I wrote. It's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, and you STILL got it wrong!

It's funny how people who find themselves educated by Fox News like to tell everyone else how ignorant they are. It's like the religious person that tells everyone else they are sinners and going to hell. I am guessing that you're a Fox News fan. I'm not exactly sure how people can utilize one source for their information, and claim to know so much. I mean, if that were the case...there would only need to be on book on every subject. Only one point-of-view would be necessary in your world, huh? No opposition required-- "just agree with us, or fuck off!!!". That's why people like you are mocked and ridiculed; you are a "thought communist". Or would it be a "thought socialist"? You allow Fox, and ONLY FOX, to educate you. One mindset, one opinion, one view.

Well, G.I.Joe...G.I.Joe, how original. So, I guess you "fight for freedom, where ever there's trouble"? You're a "real American Hero", eh? It's funny how the people that trumpet the loudest about American values really haven't a clue as to what that really  means. Me and my "readers" are ignorant to what America really has to offer, huh? I would ask you to explain exactly how you are able to come to that conclusion, but I am willing to guess that you are too intellectually and emotionally stunted to hold a rational discussion or debate. Either that, or your just another angry, inarticulate blow-hard that hasn't an original thought in your tiny little skull, and cannot produce an original thought that didn't come from Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin first.

I am also willing to guess, at the risk of bragging or sounding arrogant, that I make a lot more money than you do. So, you don't have to worry about buying my "sorry ass"a house or insurance. Quite the opposite, actually-- I think that, if you want to go down your line of "logic", I WOULD BE BUYING YOUR HOUSE. But whatever-- that's all irrelevant. I'm not trying to one-up your financial status-- frankly, I couldn't care less. But that's the problem, I guess. People like you, who don't think, who don't read, who throw around words like "communist" and "socialist" without knowing what those things really mean...it's boring to me. Intellectual laziness is nothing to be proud of. To me, if you want to run  your mouth and allow stupid, ignorant, thoughtless things to come out of it...that's your problem. And it IS your problem.

People like you think EVERYONE ELSE is insane or ignorant. Meanwhile, you only really want to hear from people that cater to your lack of education. I don't blame you, after all. It's a lot easier to go through life with as little thinking as possible. Thinking bothers a lot of people-- it's too hard. I know, I understand. It's threatening for you to use your brain; there's a fear that maybe, JUST MAYBE...everything you've been taught to believe is...WRONG. **GASP** And what's more painful than that? One man's "crock of shit", is another man's logic.

Oh, and by the way G.I.Joe (I don't even know why I am addressing you personally-- you are more-than-likely too cowardly to write back)...

'baggers like you have left comments here and there under articles I have written, and I have noticed a pattern. None of you-- NOT ONE OF YOU, knows how to respond to questions or criticism. It's like you read what's in front of you in an "attack" mindset...then you respond in a short, angry, pissy burst...and you NEVER ADDRESS what the article is saying. EVER. Your response, in fact, proves my point. When confronted with a truth that you do not like, you answer with a flurry of insults...and that's about it. That was the WHOLE POINT of the article.

I have listened, and continue to listen, to the teabaggers. I hear EVERYTHING you are saying. And when I write about what you people say, I write very specifically to whatever you claim you believe in. That's the truth. Sure, I can be a bit snarky and sarcastic (it's my way), but I'm not all pissed off about it. I honestly believe that most of people truly are upset and confused and angry about the direction of the country...just like I was 9 years ago. When I criticized Bush/Cheney, I did so on substance. I wasn't one of those numb-nuts holding Nazi signs or any of that garbage. I was angry, I spoke out about it, and I did so based on the issues. I wasn't making shit up, like calling him a "commie" or "fascist" or any of that other crap; and that's because I know what those words mean, and they didn't apply. And none of those words apply to Obama.

You 'baggers put yourselves out there, holding your ignorant signs, saying crazy things in interviews, and you want to be taken seriously? Not gonna work. Just like those goof-ball fringe liberals that do the same thing-- and I make fun of them, too, because none of you are focusing on what's really important. It's in that regard that you guys have a lot in common. Maybe you should team up with them so you can make better signs, with fewer typos (I shouldn't talk-- I don't proofread ANYTHING).

...and blah-blah-blah-- I've repeated myself far too many times. I don't know why I feel the need to answer to every "not verified" that writes here, especially knowing that VERY FEW OF THEM have the testicular fortitude to write back, or hold a sensible debate. I guess I do it because it's fun to me; it's like a writing exercise for me.
