Ted Stevens Killed in Alaska Plane Crash, Says Mitch Rose, Family Spokesman

Mitch Rose, spokesman for Ted Stevens' family, said that the family was notified that the former Senator was killed when the DeHavilland DCH-3T carrying him, Sean O'Keefe and six others crashed outside Dillingham, Alaska.

Three survivors are being airlifted to Dillingham, but it's not clear if Sean O'Keefe, CEO of EADS, is among them.

It was unclear whether Sean O’Keefe, 54, the former head of Nasa and the chief executive officer of the defence contractor EADS North America, had also perished in the crash.

His son was also on board the single-engine propeller plane, a DeHavilland DHC-3T, which was bringing the group to a remote part of the state for a fishing trip.
