It has now been revealed that two teenagers were murdered last night in South London in seperate incidents. On the same night that a youth was shot after being chased by a gang, another youth was caught in the crossfire of a drive-by on Camberwell Road, Walworth.

An innocent teenager died at a south London supermarket after being caught up in a drive-by shooting.

The 18-year-old was hit when gunmen on mopeds fired at two youths trying to flee into the Costcutter store in Camberwell Road, Walworth.

The victim was entering the shop with his brothers and other family members last night when up to five youths pulled up on three mopeds.

They opened fire twice on the two running into the supermarket but hit the teenager instead. A senior detective said: “It appears that the victim was an innocent bystander in what would appear to be a gang-related shooting.”

It was the 22nd London killing of a teenager this year.

The victim had no link to gangs or organised crime. It is believed the shooting at 9.45pm was part of vicious “postcode warfare”.
