Teenager guilty of murdering Polish care worker Magda Pniewska

A British teenager has been found guilty of murdering a Polish careworker who was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight.

A 17-year-old has been found guilty of the murder of Magda Pniewska, a Polishnursing assistant, who was caught in the crossfire of a gun battle in SouthLondon last year.

Armel Gnango was exchanging gunshots with a youth wearing a red bandana overhis face when the 26-year-old healthcare worker was inadvertently shot inthe head in New Cross.

Miss Pniewska was shot while she was on the phone to her sister in Poland, whoheard the fatal shot and her sister's last breath.

Gnango denied murder but was found guilty by an Old Bailey jury. He was alsofound guilty of attempted murder of the second gunman and having a gun withintent to endanger life.
