Yet another murder of a London youth by a gang of armed kids occured in London last night. It's the 22nd fatal knife or gun attack on a teenager in London this year.

A teenager was shot dead last night after being followed by a gang of youths into a grocery shop in South London.

After the fatal shot was fired inside a branch of Costcutter on Camberwell Road, Southwark, a group of suspects fled the scene on mopeds.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned at a South London police station.

Officers were called at 9.40pm last night before the victim, believed to be 18, was pronounced dead at the scene around 45 minutes later despite a London ambulance helicopter attending.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said this morning: “At this early stage it appears that the victim went into a shop and was shot by a suspect. The suspects, numbers unknown, left the scene on mopeds.”
