Despite an appeal from Iran's opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi to prevent his supporters from rallying on Tuesday, in fear of further violence, thousands of protesters took to the streets of Tehran again on Tuesday.

Foreign media and journalists have been banned from reporting in Tehran, seven protesters were killed in clashes with police and militiamen on Monday, and there are unconfirmed reports that the Iranian army has moved in to crackdown on Tuesday's pro-Mousavi rally.

Twitter is currently under maintenance until 3PM Pacific time (2:30AM in Iran) There's a warning by two of the twitter members that the government is also engaged in passing incorrect information and to debunk Mousavi's supporters.

Iran had its first revolution to remove one tyrant and now another one to remove the clergy?

Maybe a laic Republic is about to be born.

I was very surprised to watch these huge demonstrations as I thought that Iran would never allow them! This also shows that even in countries like these a cry for changes, voiced by it's own people are coming out loud and clear! Violence will never solve differences as history teaches us that good education and reliable information from journalists will!

Thanks for bringing this up we must support human rights.

Iran is no exception!
