Tragedy in Tottenham
It has a history as a troubled neighborhood. Now, the police killing of a man there triggered a community riot that led to the burning and vandalizing of shops and property. Some deaths are expected when fires, set by arsonists, are inspected.
The neighborhoods are so closely linked in London that when disaster strikes like this one, it can easily spread to others if not handled properly. London hoods are on edge, I suspect.

26 police officers were injured in the unrest and 42 people were arrested for offences including violent disorder, burglary and theft following overnight clashes.
Tottenham MP David Lammy today said the area had had its 'heart ripped out' by last night's rioting and said there may even be fatalities in the burned out buildings, he said.
He said: "A community that was already hurting has now had its heart ripped out.
"The post office, shops, news agents, mobile phone shops, council building that deal with customer complaints, smashed to pieces by mindless, mindless people last night - many of whom are not from Tottenham and had come from afar into this community intent on causing violence.
"What happened here raised huge questions and we need answers, but the response to that is not to loot, to rob.”

The whole thing is a farce, what exactly are they angry about? The man who was killed fired on police officers, what were they meant to do? ask him to stop?

We don't have many details, at least I don't. I suspect the neighborhood is a tinder box.
