Russian Ambassador Refers to Saudi Cleric as Source of Provocation against Arab League Monitors in Syria

Russia's UN Ambassador referred to a Salafi cleric, the spiritual leader of the Saudi-Qatari Islamic terrorist groups active in Syria, as the man behind the withdrawal of the Arab League (AL) observers from Syria.

In his devastating speech against Arab League-British- American-French intervention for regime change in Syria, Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin stated that the reason the AL Monitors were pulled from Syria is that a Saudi cleric issued a {fatwa} calling for the killing of the monitors. Churkin did not name that cleric.

That cleric is Sheikh Adnan Al-Arour, a Syrian Salafi cleric living in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, who enjoys enormous support from Saudi, Kuwaiti, and Qatari authorities and private interests. (There is no connection between this form of terrorism and the terrorism we saw on 9 11 in NYC; just because there's a Saudi overlap, you must overlook that fact.)

The AL Monitors mission chairman, Sudanese Gen. Mohammad Ahmed Al-Dabi, who is hated by the Saudi-Qatari axis, said on Jan. 29: "The decision to suspend the work of the mission was made in light of the {fatwa} which was issued by Sheikh Adnan Al-Arour in which he declared that spilling the blood of the observers was justified [in religious terms], which posed a threat to their life and safety."

It is noteworthy that this {fatwa} was issued immediately after the Saudis and Qataris pulled out their monitors from Syria, in a provocative move to justify running to the UN Security Council.
