We have set up a SCAN to keep watching the result through Twitter discussions.

Governor Rick Perry and other state leaders have pushed for the passage of the propositions, especially proposition 4, funding for university research, and proposition 11, for stronger property rights against government taking over.

Proposition 6 would grant the Veteran's Land Board ongoing authority to issue bonds instead of the need for state approval every year. The board offer low interest loans to veterans. Some oppose the idea of allowing the board to issue billions in bonds without state oversight.

Those who oppose the measure say they worry about allowing an entity like the Veterans Land Board to issue billions in bonds without state oversight. According to the Texas Legislature Online there was little to no opposition to the measure in the House or Senate.

Voters have approved $4 billion in these bonds in past years and about half of that has been paid off and retired, Darwin said. Future amounts issued, if the amendment is passed, would have to be equal to or less than the amounts authorized by the state in previous years.

You can find out the complete list of constitutional amendment propositions on the Texas Secretary of State website.
