NP Rank:
Texas is gaining in population; Detroit is losing - America's cities
Detroit lost the most population as 27,300 people moved out of the city.
Dallas-Fort Worth added more than 162,000 residents between July 2006 and July 2007, more than any other metro area. Three other Texas areas - Houston, Austin and San Antonio - also cracked the top 10.
Atlanta saw the second-largest population jump with just over 151,000 new residents. Phoenix was third with more than 132,000, and was followed by Houston, Riverside, Calif., Charlotte, N.C., Chicago, Austin, Las Vegas and San Antonio.
Of the 50 fastest-growing metro areas, 27 were in the South and 20 were in the West. Two were in the Midwest, one - Fayetteville, Ark. - straddles the South and Midwest and none was in the Northeast.
Detroit lost more than three times as many people as any other metro area - its population declined more than 27,300. Other areas losing more than 5,000 people were Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Ga., Youngstown, Ohio, and Buffalo, N.Y.
Experts credit much of the growth in the South to relatively strong local economies and housing prices that are among the most affordable in the U.S.

Well I love trains especially Passenger trains. The only passenger Train to Serve San Antonio on a Daily Basis is the Amtrak Texas Eagle. It Arrives late at night and leaves around 7am in the morning. Unlike the Sunset limited which is a tri-weekly train.
Most San Antonians don't ride the train and never will. Whether we get our commuter train in by 2012, is another mysteries unto itself.

I've heard about the famous "Riverwalk" in San Antonio and wanted to see for myself. After witnessing the beauty of it, I realized why the Riverwalk surpassed the Alamo in top attractions in San Antonio Texas.

This photo was taken from Belle Isle, which straddles the Detroit River between the USA and Canada. It's a VERY popular park in the summer but still has it's great views and fresh breezes. Don't show up on Monday after the boat races or the Grand Prix. Too much left over trash!

Skyline shot of Atlanta. Some damage from the March 14 tornado that went through downtown of the city is visible in this shot in the glass of some of the buildings.

my day was awesome and so random!
Yesterday at 8pm, my flight was going from Chicago to SD,
after 5hours we couldn't land in SD because it was so foggy on the airport. Also we circled around over north park when we decided to go to Las Vegas temporarily.
But then, we had to stay there for the whole night!
When I was standing in line to get two new boarding passes, I saw a pretty familiar figure.
I just thought:"that can't be Noelle"
Let’s call her! The person really changed the call and I hung up, I just stood a few feet away from her, and she was like
Ohhhhh myyyyy gosh!
She was coming down from the bay area, and she was on the air port for two hours longer than us (Kevin and I)
Noelle was so happy to see us, because she was also traveling alone.
We explored the airport, checked some open stores out and hung around.
To get some fresh air we were going on top of the parking deck and enjoyed the view to the strip.
So we came up with this idea just to get a cab and visit downtown at 2 o’clock in the morning. After just a ten minute right we were on the Venice hotel, which is pretty awesome.
We just started walking around and as soon we got out of the hotel, my Rebel xt battery died. I just had my fisheye #2 with me also and plenty rolls of film. We just walked down the strip, visited some casinos/hotels and got some food. At 6am we decided to get back to the air port, because we were all pretty tired.
We went up again to the parking deck to enjoy the sunrise. We got an awesome place on the elevator chute with a beautiful view over LV.
After the sun was up, we went in to the terminal, but got selected for a high security check.
I was fine, besides the water bottle in my bag pack.
After the pretty short flied to SD we had to pick up our big bags, because they got send with the first airplane to the airport.
We found our stuff in the “secure” area and just left for home.
I hope stuff like this going to happen more often in my future life =]

Cesar's Palace is one of the best best hotels in Las Vegas. It is made up like an italian town with streets, elegant shops, many famous italian buildings within the building, and last but not least the Casino what is what people come to Las Vegas for. This part of a town is situated within the Cesar's building and so is the sky. At night it changes to a funky star lit universe.

Detroit is my city but there is no doubt that it is struggling. It does not help that the current situation with Mayor Kilpatrick has shed a very negative light on the city. This is a shot of Jefferson Avenue and the Detroit River. You can see Windsor, Ontario across the river as well as other landmarks. There is some amazing architecture in Detroit which I would love to see restored to its orginal glory. Sadly, I'm not sure that this will happen in my lifetime.
