Texas Wants Independence from the USA

Texans have at all times the inalienable right to alter, reform or abolish their government in such manner as they may think expedient.”  <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Texas Constitution - Article 1- Section 2

"Whenever any form of government is destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness] it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and to institute new government in such form as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.”   Declaration of Independence, 1776

In the past, there has been talk about Vermont, Ohio, Hawai’i and Alaska seceding from the Union. The author has included such subjects in previous articles since many people have been interested in the concept of seceding.  It also appears that Texas wants to secede from the United States of America.

While those may underestimate and ignore the comments about secession, it is a reality especially in the United States of America that has existed since 2001. While people have talked about going abroad if their candidate loses, there are people who cannot afford to go abroad. The same people who cannot afford to go abroad but can no longer stomach what has become an empire are the ones that favour the independence of their region from an empire that is decaying by the moment.

According to the webpage of the Texas Secession Movement, Texas has a population of 23,507,783; is 11% larger than Australia. They also reported that 79% of the nations have populations smaller than Texas. The GDP of Texas is $1,065,891,000,000; making it 32% larger than Australia, and 93% of the nations having a GDP smaller than Texas.

Texaswas once an Independent Republic from 1836 to 1845 and briefly seceded from the Union [USA] to join the Confederate States of America. Texas also gave the United States of America two Presidents [Lyndon Baines Johnson and Dwight D. Eisenhower]. The State of Texas has given the world artists such as Selena, Eva Longoria, and the people of Radio Free Texas. Texas has also been the home of the Bush Family. It should be remembered that Bush and his family were naturalized Texans since they are more in tune to Washington DC than to Texas.

Texashas been used and abused by the Governing Elite of the United States of America. The people of Texas have seen their tax money go to Washington DC without receiving anything in return. Texas has seen the politicians from Washington campaigning in their state promising the Universe and receiving more and more regulations.

It appears that in these uncertain economic times, the Governing Elite in America seem to want to milk Texas and other states of its natural resources. The people of Texas have realized that the Governing Elite in America are a parasitic class that cares less about Texas and wants to consume its products until Texas is bled dry. I hope that one day Texas will find its way to independence. It will not be easy but it should be remembered that liberty is easy to lose and hard to obtain. Texas also has a culture that is distinct from the rest of America that will help it in its fight for independence.

My street wants to become independent too. Passport control may be a problem. To be precise one person on my street wants my street to become independent and it isn't me. He has some drug "issues" and has recently left hospital. A special hospital for special people. He told me he met Napoleon while he was there and also the pretty monkey from the planet of the apes. We dont talk all that often but when I see him I ask him if he is okay

Sputnic has some issues with spamming. I am trying to address an issue that some people have been raising since the elections.

Interesting, it's a lot like Quebec wanting independence from Canada.

Ive heard rumors of this, but This is actually my first time reading on it. What would happen to the military bases in Texas...? And if Texas was confronted by another nation with hostility, what do they think they would do?
