Thai couple kiss for 46 hrs to claim Guinness record

Pattaya: Thai couple Echarai and Lakshnatiranarat locked themselves together and kissed for 46 hours, 24 minutes and 9 seconds to establish a new Guinness world record in kissing. The ‘kissathon’ was organized at this beach resort in a shopping mall yesterday on the occasion of Valentines’ Day. The couple was presented by the organizers a diamond ring worth 1,606 dollars and 3,213 dollars in cash. The previous record of over 32 hours was set in 2009 by a couple in Germany was broken by the Thai couple, according to Guinness World Records, whose officials will have to verify the latest milestone for it to become official.

 Six  other couples also participated in the kissathon. One of the couples who registered marriage yesterday also won a condominium, while 12 other newlyweds won gold marriage certificates in the district's prize draw. There was also a gay couple, The district office refused to process any divorces yesterday.
