Written by Phil Gremillion, a man described as "a businessman, farmer, inventor and Cajun who lives in Lafayette (La.)," a commentary published today in The Daily Advertiser of Lafayette, La., follows perfectly on the heels of this headline:

Wake me up: It's a different world these days

Gremillion covers a number of topics in his commentary about the "different world" in which we now find ourselves, but his discussion of the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (a.k.a., "ACORN") deserves the most attention:

ACORN officials bused people to AIG executives' houses to protest bonuses - buses paid for by taxpayer dollars. Some of these AIG executives were from a division that made money last year. These executives were paid $1 for the year in salary, thus making the bonus their only income, based on profits in their division. These good people are now quitting. Common sense was destroyed by global warming on this alien world!

No, ACORN didn't send protesters to the executives at Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, who received million-dollar bonuses. Nor did they bus protesters to the ACORN executives' homes who received bonuses paid for by taxpayer dollars. Where is the American Civil Liberties Union when you need them? Oh, that's right. I'm on another planet.

As a new My Personal Litmus poster indicates, President Barack Obama and the Democrat Party leaders in Congress are taking us down the wrong path -- toward socialism and with the federally-funded assistance of ACORN.
