That's another fine mess ! - hapless criminals are captured.

Well it was re-enacted today in Dublin's Dawson St.; three would-be criminals, armed with a shotgun, entered a jewellers shop to rob it. The activity didn't last long as the owner quickly subdued the gun holder, the second man ran out of the shop and was trippped up by a  passer-by and held until cops arrived. The third was caught by police as he also tried to escape -  he was rugby tackled by a female police officer - God bless her!.

The gun man ended up in hospital (maybe fell over his gun!) and the other two are in police custody tonight waiting for him to join them in the station.

You'll agree that it was not a great day for them - maybe they were practicing for their next 'job'.  Hopefully not however, as I imagine I can hear the immortal words as they stew in the 'nick' - That's another fine mess you got me into! Doh!
