Is There a Luka Rocco Magnotta Dismemberment Video? There Appears To Be

By now you've likely heard about  Luka Rocco Magnotta, the Canadian man who is suspected of sending dismembered body parts through Canada Post. Since Magnotta was named as a suspect, plenty of information has come out about Magnotta. One horrific fact: he may have dismembered someone and video of the murder has appeared online.

Is There a Luka Rocco Magnotta Dismemberment Video?

According to several media outlets, police have seen what could be a Luka Rocco Magnotta dismemberment video. The National Post has reported a video "showing the alleged Montreal attack" has appeared on the Canadian site Bestgore.com under the title "1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick."

Best Gore claims that it believes Magnotta was involved with the video: “Thorough investigation by the Best Gore community [led] to an assumption that the 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick perpetrator could be a renowned cat killer and internet attention whore Luka Magnotta.”

If we can editorialize a little bit, may we just say that the video is likely out there for you to see, but it's probably best for all involved to search for something else.

First off, watching the 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick video will bruise your soul. As columnist Christie Blatchford has pointed out, the Luka Magnotta dismemberment video might be real or might be fake. Either way, it is enough "to send you into the basement with some tinned food, never to be seen again."

There's also another reason not to watch the Best Gore video: the person who made the video wants you to see it. This could very well be the work of a criminal who wanted to be seen, who wanted to gain fame through doing something unspeakable. This wasn't some Jack the Ripper-type quietly lurking in the shadows only to have his crimes exposed against his will. Whoever made this video did something horrific to get people to pay attention to him. Don't give him the satisfaction.
