As many as thirteen people were injured when a soldier drove his car into a crowd of people at an army base in the town of Bad Salzungen in Germany. The incident happened in the early hours of the morning on Monday when the car drove into a group of 30 soldiers gathered near a weaponry room. It is not clear if the incident was intentional, but it was reported that the driver himself was in the state of shock after the incident. He was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol either.

"At the moment, we assume there were seven seriously injured but at present, none of them are in danger of dying," Christian Dienst told a regular press conference.
The incident appeared to be an accident rather than a deliberate attack, an army spokesman said. The driver of the Mercedes apparently failed to see the troops in the dawn light.
