I think and hope that the number of escaping civilians will go up next days.
These civilians plight must come to and end!!

'Thousands' flee Tamil Tiger area

The government said thousands had fled the area in the north

More than 10,000 Sri Lankan civilians have fled in the past few days from rebel-held territory in the north, the government says.

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse called on the Tamil Tigers to let thousands more civilians leave and then unconditionally surrender.

The rebel-held enclave is coming under sustained pressure from the army.

Aid agencies have expressed grave concern for the more than 200,000 civilians believed trapped in the area.

The government has accused the rebels of preventing the non-combatants from leaving and using them as human shields.

MULLAITTIVU: ANOTHER large number of civilians who fled LTTE-held areas arrived in cleared areas and sought protection form the army troops Saturday (7).

5600 civilians including small children and women who reached the troops in PUTHUKUDIYIRIPPU were to be sent to IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) centres.

Today the Sri Lankan Army attacked some Tamil civilians went into the SLA area and so many of them dead one guy escape with injuries he revealed what went on.

The civilians went and few army pointed the gun at them they told the army they are civilians wants to go to the Army controlled are for safety so one of the Army told them to bring a white flag and leave so these hundred of people left there was another 15 to 20 army they harrassed then then attacked them also shot them dead. Most of them dead few still alive and one guy escaped back to LTTE area.

When these pictures are taken, I am not sure.
