The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton on Monday warned Iran that the international community would not sit back and wait for Iran to act on it's commitments on the disputed nuclear program for ever. Meanwhile Iran seems to have different plans. An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Hassan Ghashghavi said that Iran's commitment was in line with international laws and their nation would not adhere to any threats.

"Our commitments under the international regulations are based on legalities. Remarks that bear threats, deadlines and timetables do not have any impact on us," Ghashghavi said at his weekly press conference, responding to Clinton's comments.

This is not the first time that the Iranian government has been vocal against such deadlines. President Obama had earlier on October 1, given a deadline of two weeks to Iran open its secret nuclear facility at Qum to inspection. Though Iran eventually agreed to allow representatives of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit the site on October 25, the 10-day gap between the US demand and to what Iran agreed shows the looming dilemma over the Iran nuclear diplomacy. A widespread belief is that even if a solution is achieved, the solution is unlikely to be in line with what the demand that West is pressing for.

As these developments unfold the world is watching as the terms may also have fallouts for other players too who are planning such programs or are in negotiations. October 19 marks next critical stage in the talks, when representatives from Iran, the US, Russia, France and the IAEA are to scheduled to meet in Vienna to work out the deals under which Iran has agreed to buy 20 percent pure uranium from abroad.

Iran however has reiterated that it will go ahead with it's enrichment program if the talks to procure fuel fail as it remains committed to fulfill its energy requirements by all legal means.

Yes the world will be watching.  Iran has never responded to threats  They are also in a PR campaign with their own population.

Yes, its a critical time. Israel also seems to be ready to pounce upon Iran on first available opening.

Israel's worries about the nuclear arsenal were sounded by a former Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh too when he said that if Iran were not further sanctioned by this Christmas Israel would attack the country.

I have a feeling Iran wants USA to back off , plus does not want US to be part of the deal concerning an agreement with the UN and its made an agreement, US needs to back of politely and let the agreement go a head and not take a dominant position.

as regime continues to execute and punish their people.

Anybody expect any different?

so we were given false hope that the people could change the regime by many willing 'martyrs'. that's what they call those killed in the protests, and imprisoned, etc.

'Martyrs.'

A few of those that were imprisoned as dissidents have been sentenced to death last week, almost unnoticed to the world.  Here is  a link:

Imabahdjammie is a big-headed, frightened man, fighting a war of words, trying to hold on to power.  Dissent would bring him down, were it allowed to continue, so it won't be allowed.

Meanwhile, the UN will dither, Obama will pontificate, and the bahd jammie man, given the gift of time, will continue his path to destruction....unless of course someone with some backbone, and moral courage, decides to stand up to him.

Any leaders in the west fit that profile?
