Three Arrested: Gunmen In Yemen open fire near US Embassy
Reuters is confirming that gunmen opened fire on a checkpoint outside the US embassy in Yemen.

Yemeni police have arrested three gunmen after they fired at security forces close to the US embassy...
"Gunmen in a car fired at the police in a neighbourhood close to the embassy around 9.30pm local time (Monday). Security forces chased them and managed to stop the car," the official told AFP on Monday.

The U.S. Embassy confirmed receiving a threat about a potential attack on its compound, and security measures were heightened in the capital, San'a.
U.S. Embassy spokesman Ryan Gliha said earlier in the day that the embassy was urging American citizens to exercise caution in Yemen. He said the embassy received a threat "regarding a possible attack that could take place in the foreseeable future" but gave no further details.

Initial reports suggest no-one was hurt in the attack, apparently carried out by gunmen in a car.
Hours earlier, the US embassy said it had received a threat about a potential attack in "the foreseeable future".
US officials urged American nationals to exercise caution in the Arab country that has previously witnessed attacks by militants on Western interests.

A ministry official says police returned fire at two gunmen in the car, which fled the scene. It was unclear if anyone was injured. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not allowed to speak to the press.
